Maggie and James’ gorgeous Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyard wedding is one for the books! Filled with all sorts of lovely details captured by the talented Katelyn James Photography, their special day is one that we will not forget any time soon!

The Charlottesville Makeup Artist team had the pleasure of doing Maggie’s, and her bridal party’s, wedding makeup using peach tones to enhance her already glowing skin and striking eyes. The end result was picture perfect and we were so thrilled to be a part of celebrating their marriage.

Kayla and Steven’s Stunning Restoration Hall Wedding was one of our favorites! Despite rain throughout their wedding day, this lovely couple stayed positive, looked gorgeous and had the time of their lives celebrating!

The Charlottesville Makeup Artist team loved working to create a twist (literally!) on the classic up-do for Kayla and her bridesmaids. Braids and twists are some of our favorite details for hairstyles and an easy way to take things up a knotch. Celebrate 2016 with Rachel’s Vintage Inspired Pin-up Bridal Hairstyle!

Happy New Year! We thought we would start off 2016 with one of our favorite weddings from this past season photographed by Katie Nesbitt Photography. Rachelle and Zeke planned a spectacular day at Faithbrooke Barn & Vineyard complete with a vintage inspired pin-up bridal hairstyle, a classic red truck and lots of dancing up and down the aisle!

Rachelle had a specific idea of what she wanted for her hair and makeup and we enjoyed collaborating with her to make it a reality. She requested a pin-up girl look which we achieved by putting pin-curls in her hair and creating winged eyeliner and red lip for her makeup. Rachelle was all glamour and we couldn’t get enough of it!

We’ll let her tell you a bit more about her experience:

“Your team was the absolute best. They were upbeat and fun loving and my whole bridal party felt so glamorous afterwards. Me and my sister have been a part of many weddings and usually joke about how no matter how many photos you show, or how flexible you are, most wedding hair stylists can’t seem to get the “vision” or just end up giving you a standard up-do that has no resemblance to what you were even asking for. Don’t even get me started on the number of times we have had to redo our makeup or work together to fix a hairstyle. But, even she was floored at how perfect we all looked once we were finished, everyone was so happy and felt special, which was my goal. Thank you and your team so much! From our first phone call to the last dab of lip gloss, you and your team made this experience fantastic and it was so appreciated!” – Rachelle

Charlottesville Makeup Artists Favorite Bridal Hairstyles with Monica D

When it comes to Charlottesville Makeup Artist‘s favorite bridal hairstyles, we love finding the perfect balance between fashion and function — a look that is graceful and romantic but can withstand lots of dancing (trust us, our brides like to dance)! We had the pleasure of achieving this balance for our bride, Monica, and her bridesmaids on her wedding day at Early Mountain Vineyards.

For Monica’s hair, we gave her a low bun with curls and a side swoop with a little bit of volume to frame her face. The whole look was finished with a veil and jeweled clip. Her makeup was inspired by her vibrant green eyes so we used green and gold hues and earth-tone eyeshadows to make them “pop”. For the bridesmaids we also used a natural color palette and created a full range of hairstyles that put our creativity to the test! Best Fall Wedding Makeup and Hairstyles | Michelle’s Big Day at UVA Chapel

The leaves are changing and fall is in full swing! At Charlottesville Makeup Artist we love how this time of year inspires rich color palettes to use for fall wedding makeup and hairstyles. Our gorgeous bride Michelle’s recent wedding photographed by Jason Jarvis Photography at the University of Virginia Chapel and Veritas Winery is the perfect example. We spent the day creating lovely and individualized looks for a diverse bridal party and couldn’t be happier with the results. Michelle wanted a natural look and had this to say after the wedding:

“I received so many compliments on how I looked and how surprisingly natural I looked (them also knowing that I don’t wear make up ever). My bridesmaids love how they looked and how laid back the morning was. It was truly a remarkable day. You guys made me feel beautiful and for that I am forever grateful.” – Michelle
